Pakistani students looking to pursue higher education in Europe can now apply for Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation scholarship program for the 2026–27 academic year, which has officially opened to international applicants. The fully funded MAECI scholarship offers Pakistani students the opportunity to study at some of Italy’s most prestigious and historic universities, including the University of Bologna, Sapienza University of Rome, and Politecnico di Milano, while promoting international academic cooperation and the study of Italian language and culture.
Under the program, selected students will receive a monthly stipend of €900, exemption from tuition and enrolment fees at public universities except for minor regional charges, and full health and accident insurance coverage, with scholarships awarded for three, six, or nine months and renewable for longer degree programs. Pakistani applicants are eligible to apply for master’s degrees if they are under 28 years of age and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree, while PhD applicants must be under 30 years old, possess a master’s degree, and provide an acceptance letter from an Italian university; candidates for supervised research projects must be under 40 years of age.
Applications are submitted entirely online through the official Study in Italy portal, where applicants must create an account, select an eligible course, and upload required documents including a passport copy, CV in Europass format, academic transcripts and degrees, a motivation letter, language proficiency certificate in English or Italian, admission or pre-acceptance letter for degree programs, and a research proposal for PhD or research applications. The expected deadline for submitting applications for the 2026–27 academic year is mid-June 2026.
