Manchester United climbed to sixth place in the Premier League after a dominant 4-1 win over bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, with captain Bruno Fernandes scoring twice to secure the victory. United took the lead in the 25th minute through Fernandes, setting the tone for a commanding performance. Wolves briefly rallied before halftime when Haiti international Jean-Ricner Bellegarde equalized in stoppage time, earning cheers from the home supporters.

The second half saw United reassert control, with Bryan Mbeumo restoring the lead in the 52nd minute, followed by Mason Mount’s composed finish to make it 3-1 shortly after the hour mark. Fernandes sealed the win with a penalty after VAR identified a handball. Despite nine minutes of stoppage time, Wolves fans remained frustrated, chanting and booing as the game concluded.

The victory brought United to 25 points from 15 games under manager Ruben Amorim, while Wolves suffered their record eighth successive league defeat and 13th of the season, leaving them stranded with just two points. Their performance marks the joint-lowest points tally after 15 games in the history of England’s top four tiers, extending a league winless streak since April. Wolves are now 13 points from safety, with discussions focused on whether they can avoid breaking the Premier League record for the fewest points, set by Derby County with 11 points in the 2007-08 season.
