KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that Pakistan is aiming to host the Women’s World Cup, describing the event as a significant honor for the country. Speaking to the media in Karachi, Naqvi outlined plans to upgrade the National Stadium, aiming to make it even more impressive than Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
He stated that construction work on the Karachi stadium is scheduled to begin after the conclusion of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The PCB Chairman expressed optimism that the renovations would attract large crowds and encourage greater public attendance at matches in Karachi.
In addition to the National Stadium upgrade, Naqvi revealed that the PCB is working on the construction of a new stadium in Hyderabad, reflecting the board’s ongoing efforts to expand cricket infrastructure across the country and promote the sport at both domestic and international levels.
