The planned improvements include enclosure remodeling modeled after Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium, which is known for its contemporary design and state-of-the-art facilities.
Enhanced spectator amenities will be a key focus of the renovation, with efforts to improve seating comfort, accessibility, and safety, ensuring fans enjoy matches in a welcoming and modern environment. The upgrades also plan to incorporate advanced technological features, such as improved lighting systems and digital displays, to elevate the viewing experience during day and night matches.
This project follows recent upgrades made to Pakistan’s major cricket venues in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2024, reflecting the PCB’s commitment to hosting world-class cricket events. The National Stadium Karachi has already undergone significant enhancements in its first phase, including the construction of a modern pavilion, installation of large digital screens, LED floodlights, and upgraded seating arrangements, all designed to meet ICC requirements for international cricket tournaments.
