The Punjab government plans to launch a new electric bus service in Gujrat by December 2025, following directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Assistant Commissioner Bilal Zubair, alongside officials from the Regional Transport Authority and Municipal Committee, conducted a site visit to review proposed routes and bus stop locations.

The service will feature 28 electric buses operating across the district, providing residents with modern, environmentally friendly public transportation options. Authorities are working to accelerate infrastructure development to ensure the project’s timely completion. This initiative supports Punjab’s goals of promoting sustainable mobility and reducing urban pollution by introducing clean energy solutions in public transit.
