The UAE Consul General in Karachi has strongly refuted claims that visas for Pakistani citizens are being suspended, providing clarity amid circulating reports that had caused confusion. According to the Consul General, all categories of visas, including tourist, business, and work permits, are being processed as usual, and there is no interruption in services. In fact, the consulate is currently handling the highest volume of visa applications in recent years, reflecting strong travel and business ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
Due to this surge in demand, some visa types now require applicants to book advance appointments. This adjustment is intended to streamline the application process and ensure that services are delivered efficiently, rather than indicating any limitation or restriction on visa issuance. The statement comes in response to earlier remarks made by a Pakistani official, which suggested that visas were being limited to holders of diplomatic passports. The UAE Consul General clarified that these reports were inaccurate, emphasizing that there is no ban or suspension affecting Pakistani applicants.
The consulate reassured the public that normal operations continue across all visa services, and Pakistani citizens seeking to travel, work, or conduct business in the UAE can proceed with their applications without concern. The clarification highlights the UAE’s commitment to maintaining smooth consular services and supporting the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two countries.
