Poland continues to attract foreign job-seekers, and many Pakistanis are exploring employment opportunities there. Pakistani citizens, as non-EU nationals, must obtain a valid work permit or a combined residency and work permit before starting any job in Poland. Tourist or visit visas do not allow legal employment.
Poland issues several types of work permits based on employment circumstances. Type A permits are for employment with a specific Polish employer, Type B is for company owners or self-employed individuals, Type C covers seasonal or temporary work, Type D is for intra-company transfers, and Type E is designed for researchers or specialized professionals.
The process begins by securing a job offer from a Polish employer, as only the employer can submit a work permit application. The employer applies to the provincial labour office with necessary documents, including business registration, details of the job contract, and justification for hiring a foreign worker. Once approved, the work permit is typically valid for up to three years, depending on the employment contract.
After receiving the permit, applicants must apply for a national visa if required, followed by a temporary residence permit, which grants legal status to live and work in Poland. Documentation required includes a valid passport, employment contract, proof of the employer’s legal status, evidence that the salary meets minimum wage requirements, and proof of accommodation or residence in Poland. Work contracts must be in English or Polish, and any contract in another language must be translated by a sworn translator.
Following these steps ensures that Pakistani nationals can work legally in Poland while complying with immigration and labour regulations.
