Grizzly Bear Attacks School Group in British Columbia, Multiple Injured

A terrifying incident unfolded in British Columbia when a grizzly bear attacked a school group on a remote trail in the Bella Coola region. Eleven people, including children as young as nine, sustained injuries during the chaotic encounter, leaving the community in shock and fear.

According to the Nuxalk First Nation, the aggressive bear was spotted in the Old Trail area. Following the attack, Acwsalcta, the local school, suspended operations as emergency services rushed to assist the victims. Families anxiously awaited news, with authorities confirming that two individuals are in critical condition while others suffered serious injuries. Seven members of the group were unharmed and did not require medical attention.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as the bear charged through the trail. One mother recounted how her son narrowly avoided the bear, which was moving from one child to another, heightening the terror. At the time of the reports, the bear remained at large, prompting ongoing concerns for public safety in the area.
