Saudi Arabia is set to introduce electronic e-bracelets for all Hajj pilgrims as part of enhanced safety and crowd management measures, a move aimed at preventing incidents like the tragic 2015 stampede that claimed hundreds of lives. The e-bracelets will store essential personal, medical, and passport information, enabling authorities to quickly identify and assist pilgrims in case of emergencies.
In addition to safety features, the bracelets will provide prayer timings, multilingual guidance, and GPS tracking, helping worshippers navigate the pilgrimage more easily. To further strengthen security, nearly 1,000 new surveillance cameras have been installed at the Grand Mosque, monitored by specialized forces to manage crowds effectively.
These measures demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of millions of pilgrims each year, reflecting a proactive approach to preventing past tragedies and delivering a more organized, secure, and smooth Hajj experience.
