Pakistan, along with several Islamic nations including Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Indonesia, has called on Israel to immediately withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territories and emphasized the urgent need to begin large-scale reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
The joint appeal was made during a meeting of Muslim foreign ministers in Istanbul, where the leaders discussed the fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire and expressed concern over reports of ongoing Israeli violations.
During the discussions, the ministers highlighted the devastating humanitarian situation in Gaza and urged the international community to take concrete steps to ensure lasting peace, protect civilian lives, and support the rebuilding of critical infrastructure. They reiterated that a just and sustainable resolution to the Palestinian issue lies in ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The meeting also underscored the importance of Muslim unity in defending the rights of Palestinians and coordinating diplomatic efforts to pressure Israel into adhering to international law and ceasefire agreements.
