Ghandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL) has reported robust demand for its JAC T9 Hunter pickup in Pakistan, selling 1,928 units during the fiscal year 2026 and generating approximately Rs. 12 billion in revenue from the model alone, according to figures shared during the company's corporate briefing.

The JAC T9 Hunter stood out as GAL's largest single revenue contributor for the period. Within the overall sales mix, single-cabin 4x2 variants accounted for an estimated 700 to 800 units, reflecting steady interest from buyers seeking practical, work-oriented transport.

At the company level, GAL recorded standalone revenue of around Rs. 29 billion during FY26. Management noted that commercial vehicles carried a relatively heavier weight in its bottom line, helping offset pressures elsewhere in the business.

The company also addressed the impact of new energy vehicle levies, stating that it absorbed the negative effects of these charges on the JAC T9 Hunter rather than passing the full burden to customers. This decision appears to have helped sustain momentum for the model amid a changing regulatory landscape.

In a further push to broaden its lineup, GAL launched the JAC T9 Hunter EV along with another light commercial vehicle during the year. Management indicated that these new introductions supported overall sales growth and strengthened the company's position in Pakistan's increasingly competitive pickup and commercial vehicle segment.

The performance underscores the growing role of pickups in Pakistan's automotive market, where buyers increasingly weigh utility and value against rising ownership costs. GAL's efforts to expand into electric and light commercial options suggest the company is positioning itself for a more diversified future.
