Philippine Police Confirm FBI Investigation into Thomas Markle Sr. Over Alleged Child Pornography
Philippine authorities say they have found a video of minors engaged in sexual acts as part of an alleged child pornography cache linked to Thomas Markle Sr., and the FBI is now involved in the investigation.
Philippine police have confirmed that the FBI is investigating Thomas Markle Sr., the estranged father of Meghan Markle, over an alleged child pornography cache found in the Philippines. Authorities in Cebu City said on Tuesday that the cache contained a video showing children engaging in sexual activities, with both Asian and Caucasian minors featured, though no Filipinos were identified in the clip.
According to Pmgen Wilson Casueta, acting director of the Philippine National Police, the investigation is "going in the right direction" and authorities will file charges if sufficient evidence is found. Casueta also revealed that the FBI and US authorities are conducting their own investigations in partnership with Philippine law enforcement, specifically reaching out to the Women’s and Children’s Protection Center.
The development comes two weeks after reports emerged about the alleged cache, which reportedly included books about pedophilia, magazines depicting child sexual abuse, sexually explicit 35mm negatives, seven hard drives, and over 50 videotapes. Mexican authorities have also reportedly found child pornography in a storage unit, though Casueta could not comment on that matter.
The investigation has drawn international attention due to Markle’s connection to the British royal family. However, UK police have not yet launched their own investigation into the allegations, according to Philippine officials.
