Gold prices in Pakistan remained flat on Tuesday, with 24-karat gold trading at Rs. 412,136 per tola, unchanged from the previous day, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). The price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold also held steady at Rs. 353,340.

The stability in local rates mirrored the international market, where gold was quoted at $3,896 per ounce. Silver, however, edged lower, with the price per tola falling by Rs. 120 to Rs. 5,368.

Tuesday's pause follows a volatile period for the yellow metal. On Monday, gold had rebounded by Rs. 2,400 per tola after a significant drop of Rs. 10,800 on Saturday. Despite the recovery, prices remain well below last week's peak; on October 28, gold had gained Rs. 3,500 to reach Rs. 425,636 per tola.

For consumers, the current price level offers some relief. Gold now costs Rs. 13,500 less per tola compared to October 28, meaning a family purchasing five tolas of jewellery would pay about Rs. 67,500 less than last Wednesday, excluding making charges. Silver holders also saw a minor decline, with ten tolas of silver now worth Rs. 1,200 less than on Monday.

With global gold prices stuck below the $4,000 mark after recent sharp movements, local rates could continue to fluctuate in the coming sessions. Buyers are advised to check daily rates before making significant purchases.
